Banana chips

These banana chips are dry and very nearly flavorless. Chalky and unpleasant in texture. Yet I love them and like all profound loves the reasons are mysterious. I love their varnished appearance. They are coated in coconut oil which I'm sure is one of the really bad oils. Eating them is like a penance of some kind, karmic retribution for some previous eating experience wherein the food was more delicious than I had any right to enjoy. Because of that I am cursed to consume these banana chips and like them, the forces of food karma are not giving me even the small compensatory pleasure of an easy antagonism. These banana chips suggest plastic Japanese replica food, the kind used in restaurant display windows, or gleaming poker chips used by sophisticated tuxedoed chimps in their secret treetop casino. Yes, their secret treetop casino.
