The naked truth

I'm connecting the dots, which I've learned is a lot easier when you're the one who made the dots and you remember where you put them. Coffee helps, and lots of it. Then later there's booze to take the edge off, and by "edge" of course I mean "consciousness." Contrary to popular belief, it is not possible to face the music. I've tried, it just made me dizzy. Nor can you face facts. You can try to overcome your nervousness about facing the truth by imagining the truth naked, but believe me when I tell you it doesn't help, in fact the naked truth is even more terrifying. Do not play strip poker with the truth because if the truth ends up naked it will not be sexy but rather it will be terrifying. The truth has a soft middle and hair where no hair should be and old surgical scars that resemble wry smiles. What isn't terrifying. Children are terrifying, and the future, and television, and certain parts of the wilderness outside of town where it gets exceptionally dark at night and there are those rustling sounds, do you know the rustling sounds? This is the unincorporated area out beyond the airport.
