Scrawled on a torn-off piece of brown paper bag, an idea for a film to follow up Un Chant D'Amour, combining Robert Musil's The Confusions of Young Törless with Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther into The Confusing Sorrows of Young Worthless, the tender but brutal story of a young man of poetic sensibilities who is sent away by his rich, feckless uncle to be imprisoned by the casual cruelties of a boys' academy, and who becomes sexually obsessed with the dominant older boy who inflicts the most unceasing abuse upon him.
