Three of my four eyelids can be counted on to behave. The fourth is occasionally prone to unruliness, fluttering and trembling and vibrating, usually at the most inopportune moment imaginable, such as when I am bent on demonstrating my sanity. A person whose eyelid is fluttering feels he will be judged the owner of a slightly embarrassing nervous tic, at best, or that it will be taken as a sign of leering depravity or barely-controlled hysteria and skittish neuroticism, at worst. I'm sure there is a medical term for this condition, but I don't know what it is.
